Presentation Reflection

One of the themes in the class is thinking critically. I picked the topic of Brazil’s national museum fire for my presentation because I thought it would be a good instrument to learn from and do this with. I looked at what happened and formulated conclusions.
The aim was to think critically, look at data and come to meaningful conclusions. I looked at the causes of the fire, and the information surrounding that context. I then drew conclusions from what information I have.
I did not have anything particular in mind about the situation beforehand other than was a great loss for Brazil. I knew that artifacts and the Indigenous Language archive was lost from the Facebook page of the Survey of California and other Indian Languages of Berkeley University however; thus, I had this in mind about research regarding Latin America. I some time studying linguistics, and came to learn the news.
My perception was validated when I examined the situation. It turns out that it could have very well been a case of negligence on the part of the government. I would say that I have thought critically, although if I had tackled a more complex issue there would be more merit to my analysis.
In conclusion, I should have in hindsight tackled a more complex topic at the cost of my curiosity.
